well, hello there! summer is coming...I can feel it. I am getting more and more distracted by the idea of doing fun stuff instead of work stuff, which is exactly what happened this week. Monday morning I woke up at 6am!?!! (sorry to people who normally rise at this hour, but that is still night to me) to go on the group commute. It is bike month here in Toronto, and there is one (early) morning where many peeps meet up at Yonge and Bloor and basically take over the road for a ride down Yonge St to city hall. It was pretty cool to just be strolling down Yonge St on my bike with no need to worry about cars in my way. And it was followed by a pancake breakfast, which was nice too.

Same day, I also headed out of the city to hang with some friends and picnic & bike ride, which, honestly, is the perfect way to spend a Monday afternoon. So what are you doing with yourself on these most beautiful of days? Hopefully something super fun! See ya soon! xo

Zip it

This is my second time around with the zipper bathing suit. The first time, I was 11, and me and my BFF totally wanted these. In fact, I do recall plans were made over lunch, or perhaps it was recess, to each get a suit in our favorite neon hue-and just to take it right over the top, the matching biker shorts with the neon stripe down the leg too. I remember thinking how cool it would be to wear the suit and the short together in an ultimate neon creation. Oh dear. Fashion crimes indeed! Who knew I would like them again. I've got a black one and also a neon orange(my fave!) in the shop right now. I think they would be super fun with denim mini on those hot summer nights. But you are going to have to find your own matching biker shorts.

Have you seen Nicole Ritchie's new accessory line, House of Harlow 1960? I have to admit I actually really like many pieces. Usually, when you hear about a celebrity line, there is always something inauthentic about it all. But in this case, I don't feel that. It's a slightly bohemian look, lots of gold and black, and some interesting headpieces too. But what I am really digging is this ring. And in a strange coincidence, I saw someone wearing this at the shop where I work on the weekend. I was thinking wow, that is a very cool ring. I was also thinking, Are you Jessi from The Aftershow?-because it really looked like her-but I didn't want to ask.

Adornments

Lately, I've been a no jewelry wearing kind of girl. I think I am just bored with everything I have, so my collection has been staying put, resting in the yellow, apple shaped tin where I keep it all. But I have to say, the shoe jewelry by Litter SF is making me think twice. These pieces are hot! A statement for your shoe, I don't know what's better than that!

I think these are my favorite, the "Walk of Shame"

Nothing like a good old fashioned deadline to set the wheels in motion. Is that the expression? I get all confused when writing things like that. Cliches and such-they become nonsense to me when I write them down, I guess maybe that's why they are considered bad writing. Anyhoo...not the point. The point is, I am giving myself a deadline. May 15th is when my new collection-oh look, I've given it a title too-"Summer City" is launching. I figure since I've set it, now it must be done. I have all the goodies-and there are some fun things too! Trashy beach novels, shades, travel bags, and lots of lovely clothes are ready to go. I've just got to get them all measured up, photographed and into the shop. May 15th, technically not summer yet, but a fine date nonetheless. Look out!

Spring Things

#1 I want these sandals.

#2 I now own this nail polish. It is fun and so perfectly spring. (And it looks more purple, less Pepto Bismol hued in person.)

#3 I loathe putting together Ikea furniture. This simple table took me approximately 45 minutes to assemble, and then I realized I did something wrong. AAARH! But the good news is my balcony is shaping up to be a real beauty this season. yay!
